Break Up?

I don't know about anyone else but when I went to there Manchester (Uk) gig Brian, Jody and Chris were blanking Adam completely... When they came out afterwards (without Adam) I was talking to Jody and he said they "lost" him on the way to the tour bus... Im worried has anyone else noticed this????

I bumped into Adam and Jody outside the Astoria, and there seemed to be no tesnison. Same on stage, Adam and Chris seemed to have thier usual releasionship.

Maybe it was just a joke they were having. One that Adam understands, but looks to us humble folk like the band is about to break up.

That doesnt sound good. Not good at all. They broke up before, didn't they? Let's hope everything's ok behind the scenes. I was in Manchester, and before the gig they seemed fine. They were all in the bar across the road and were chilling out and talking as though they were all ok with each other, but who knows? I'm sure that its nothing to worry about and we're just being paraniod!

Life on the road probably isn't all that much fun for a band like Fountains of Wayne. They're not rich enough to stay in fancy hotels, or travel first class. They've know each other so long that they push each other's buttons without even thinking about it.

Heck, I took a 2-week vacation with my brother one time where we didn't speak for the last 3 days. Why would it be any different for they guys in the band?

In a way, the fact that they don't constantly tour or record will probably add to their longevity as a band.

At least I hope so......

I doubt they would break up for a very simple reason. even though Fountains of Wayne isnt a big chart topping group,at least its a steady job with a following. a sure thing.

to break up and go into the unknown and start over probably isnt an option for guys these age.

Although Adam has other options, or at least the most options out of the other guys. And Chris always has computer programming. Jody can probably get himself a sugar momma and Brian can regrow the beard and live on the streets. (or my house!) :rotfl:

The way I see it is that they're still together now, and whether or not this is a "rough spot" is up for debate. They're getting older and they might not want to do this forever, but until they actually say they don't want to do it anymore (instead of just hinting at it) I'm not going to worry.

Indeed...I just returned four weeks ago from a trip to Hawaii with my girlfriend, and since then, we've had a fight so bad that I've had to leave the house for a week now.

I think it's paramount for STL to garner some kind of staying power. Hell, I feature the vid on my MySpace page. I don't have alot of faith in 92 Suburu as the next cut to promote. Quite frankly, there really isn't anything at all on Traffic and Weather that stands out as a "look at me" song.

However (and seriously now), if I was calling the shots to promote this group and the album, I'd push "Planet Of Weed". It's got a built in cult base by its sheer content, plus it's sort of not what the uniniated (or the previously uninterested) expect from Fountains of Wayne. I'd push it on all formats, especially urban, rock, and alternative. Hell, maybe any the shit kickers would get a kick (no pun intended) out of it.

Okay, if Planet of Weed was the next Stacy's Mom my head would explode with rage. At least Stacy's Mom was a good song.

It wasn't the on stage thing that worried me it was the fact that when they came out they came out without him and then when I asked Jody where he was he came out with something about loosing him... Meh

well it might be seriously counter productive to piss off or kick adam out of the band. I'm not sure that whole "chris writes 2 songs in 3 years" thing would work in their advantage.

Heh, yeah. But I seriously doubt there's anything wrong there. You people are always worrying somethings wrong with the band. I <3 you guys, but give it a rest. If it's not Chris' drug problem or manorexia it's that they hate each other. I'm just going to wait for more proof before I jump to conclusions.

i dont come to this board much anymore, but, just thought i'd set the record straight--chris has never done a drug in his life (or at least in his adult life).
