Apple Store Show NYC 4/20/07

This is my first post, but I am a long time fan.

What a nice set, but didn't the scheduled one hour show seem like it was over in about 35 minutes?

I clocked it from 7:42 to 8:17. Doesn't a band want to go "over" and make everyone happy vs. going short? The hour commitment has nothing to do with the price of admission.

Loved Red Dragon Tattoo and everything, but I am just sayin'..

Jesus, Mary and Joseph's amazing technicolor dreamcoat! - I've got enough problems with poo... Good thing you're not contagious! Well... unless you crapped in my water...
But you seem nice.. and I doubt you'd do that right away... So... Welcome to the board...
Now please report to the "What's in a username?" thread. ;)
Maybe they cut the set short because they suddenly had severe stomach cramping...

if you can could you please post what you remebered they played?

I'm assuming it was a short set, because I thought that wasnt a proper concert. but then again I dont ever want to go to another bruce springsteen 3 hour deal either.
I think a tad under 2 hours is proper.

thanks and welcome

3 hours of dee Bruce would probably be the equivalent of hell to me. Heck, 3 hours of anyone would make me cry... Unless maybe it was Paul McCartney.. and he only played songs I wanted to hear.. and he let me take bathroom breaks....

That set list is surprising. You'd think they'd include Someone to Love, since that's the new single, and Stacy's Mom, since they're now stuck with that song for life.

fire in the canyon YES!!! I-95 YES!!!!!!!
I'm excited already for the websters music hall on the 24th.

as far as the short set, wasnt I right that it wasnt a general concert? I thought those apple store thingies were all sort of dip the foot in the water type show rather than a full on jump in the pool style regular show.

Wait, so they're using Stacy's Mom in commercials for Traffic and Weather? It isn't even on the album!
Am I the only one whose a little annoyed by this? Usually I'm laid back about the whole thing, but this is just ridiculous. Stacy's Mom was so long ago, I don't even see how it's still relevant to anyone but people who aren't fans of the band and won't be buying the album anyway...

But yeah...it'll be awesome to see the show....as long as it's cheap. ;)

I have no problem with stacys mom being in the commercial.
I'm sure they are just trying to give the band some help so people can reference...or remember who they are and what the big song is.

The Fountains also hung around afterwards talking to fans and signing autographs. What a great and rare opportunity to meet them. They couldnt be a nicer group of guys as well. Webster Hall should be something special.
I for one would like to hear a Valley of the Malls or an Amity Gardens..

A commercial for Traffic and Weather?? Must have missed that one.... I think they need a HUUUUGE back drop banner of Rachel Hunter to put up when they play festivals... maybe it could say.. "Yes, we're THAT band..."... and then maybe some people will stop and pay attention... you know.. 'cause the music won't be enough... They just have to hope that there's not a misprint on the sign and it reads.. "Yes, we're THAT bad..."

Oh, Fountains of Wayne...

I went and I was underwhelmed. I've seen Fountains of Wayne play a bunch of times (including other free shows), and Friday's performance seemed low energy. Jody looked bored. The keyboards were overly loud and strangely pitched. Chris even hit a few wrong notes!

I was pleasantly surprised to hear Barbara H. and Joe Rey!

I'm going to see them tomorrow, so hopefully they'll have gotten their act together.
