The new album... [The Official Traffic and Weather Thread]
So...what are your expectations? The word from Brian is it's sounding fantastic. After hearing Monster House I don't know what to expect at all, and
don't really know what to hope for, though I wouldn't mind some more classics in the vein of Troubled Times, Amity Gardens or Radiation Vibe. I
didn't like Welcome Interstate Managers as much as the first two albums but I have a feeling this one is going to be a cracker whatever it sounds
like...I'm excited.
What would beat anything else though would be to see FOW play Troubled Times live!

Here's my "insider" information on the new album. And I quote:
"As far as the new record goes, we've got about half of it mixed and almost all of it tracked. We're doing a feature this afternoon with New York
magazine and mixing will continue in mid-October. We're shooting for a Spring release, since we missed the Christmas release schedule."

I was told the album should be out in the UK by early Spring, but also that the artwork and marketing still had to be coordinated. As the mixing is
still ongoing and the way album releases seem to go, I can't see it being released that early. I won't complain if it is though! Perhaps we should
all have a go at designing our own idea of the artwork...

I might pass on the artwork idea, I am so artistically inept they wouldn't sell any albums if they used my "ideas".
As for my expectations, I will just roll with the flow. Their three albums to date have been so different - yet so good - that nothing would surprise
me really. As long as the melodies, hooks, harmonies and interesting lyrics are there I will be happy.

I'm looking forward to it. Every new FOW song is a big bonus, considering they started off a side-project and never really had any grand plans for
worldwide domination or anything. Just think how much happened to all of them since 1996 - yet their songs are just as relevant - in fact even more
so now than ever. I don't know if it's because i'm insecure and middle class, but I will always feel an affinity with their songs and lyrics.
And i fucking love Chris's vocals...
