It looks promising, as the article says "Also contributing previously unreleased tracks to the set are.......".

So it seems like unreleased tracks are the go for this compilation. Maybe Fountains of Wayne might put Help! on there?

PleaseWithC - 2004-6-30 at 04:47 PM

I just hope AG doesn't explode when she finds out that TMBG and Fountains of Wayne will be on the same CD, it may be too much for her. of course she probably knew this a month ago knowing her.

Dreske - 2004-6-30 at 06:12 PM

FOW and TMBG together? mmm...that's hott! I wonder if the female Flansburgh had anything to do with it?

So...he's a hermaphrodite? Anyways...

I'm betting on a new Fountains of Wayne song on the CD myself. Just a feeling.

Dreske - 2004-6-30 at 07:21 PM

No such luck LLL....it looks like it's going to be a new version of "Everything's Ruined."

PleaseWithC - 2004-6-30 at 07:31 PM

Damn that official site, they done scooped me!

Mills! - 2004-6-30 at 08:33 PM

You got scooped like Baskin Robbins yo!

Another Girl - 2004-6-30 at 10:59 PM

Yup...'cause that's my jam....Mmmm....

*swooooon*....

And, it was my year anniversary with John Linnell yesterday......but...ya know...
I'm gonna hook up with Lawrence from STYX now.

Hahaha. He rocks the keyboard WAAAAY more!

Corn dogs are yummy....not really...at all.

cow tipper - 2004-7-1 at 06:58 AM

I was supposed to interview the two Johns recently, you know. But I didn't get to, cos the label sucks.

So unfair.

tafowra - 2004-7-3 at 01:52 AM

I would love to hear a new version of Everythings Ruined, I absoloutly love that song, but it would have been nice to have a new one.

fountaingirl - 2004-7-4 at 11:06 AM

so maybe it's been an anti bush song all along

sherb - 2004-7-4 at 03:10 PM

The title of the song could certainly be taken that way I suppose fountaingirl.

When I saw the cause(s) the compilation CD was supporting I was wondering which Fountains of Wayne song would be appropriate.

I guess "Everything's Ruined" could be interpreted to fit the bill, although I don't know if that is the statement Fountains of Wayne are trying to make.

(I have my views on American and Australian politics, but I don't want to turn this into a political board :D:D).

100% of Barsuk's profits from this CD will go to non-profit organizations working to involve more Americans in our political process, to advocate for ordinary people and traditional American values, and to help keep the United States a country all of us can be proud of.

Saw TMBG and Fountains of Wayne in DC on the 24th of July. Good show.

Dreske - 2004-8-10 at 08:04 PM

I saw TMBG and Fountains of Wayne this summer but just not together. I bet that was one hott show! ;)

PleaseWithC - 2004-8-13 at 08:45 PM

I had a TMBG tape dropped anonymously into my locker once. Beat that! Free cassette.

Another Girl - 2004-8-14 at 12:18 AM

I could probably beat that. ;)
I mean I was married! to John Linnell and....yeah...

We are just as bad soundczech. We voted Shrub's biggest fan (Little Johnny) into office here in Aust.

Not that my vote at the upcoming election will be contributing to our esteemed Prime Minister's cause this time around.

Dont blame me, i voted for the loser... oh wait- in politics, they are all losers! :erm:

but seriously... what kind of an idiot would vote for this guy to lead their country??

Dreske - 2004-8-17 at 06:28 PM

I just bought Future Soundtrack For America. The new version of "Everything's Ruined" kicks ace! I didn't like the original but I really dig the acoustic version. Chris is not whispering in this version and you can hear Adam in more backing vocals. Oh yeah....there's also some other really good songs on there. :happydance:

sherb - 2004-8-17 at 10:50 PM

Another import to buy. Unless of course Fountains of Wayne are nice enough to think of including this version of Everything's Ruined on the upcoming b-sides compilation.

andymate - 2004-8-22 at 06:03 AM

I really hope the band do a proper b-sides collection and make it a double disc.

sherb - 2004-8-25 at 05:32 AM

Yeah, a double disc collection would be great news.

And liner notes for each song too would be a nice touch. :)
